Welcome to Boulder Rug Collective
We are a rug care and curation business specializing in full lifecycle of handmade and vintage rugs. We help clients understand, care for, store, restore, trade, and rehome their rugs with clarity and confidence. Rather than operating as a traditional rug washing plant, the business focuses on expert evaluation, selective consignment, professional storage, restoration coordination, and curated rug sales.

Meet the Owner

Ari Arisoy

Rugs have been part of my life for as long as I can remember.

I was born in Turkey, near Cappadocia, into a third-generation rug family. After the surname law of 1934, my family was given the last name Halıcı — meaning rug maker. In many ways, rugs were never just a business; they were part of our daily life, language, and culture.

I grew up around handmade rugs — seeing how they were made, used, cared for, repaired, and passed from one home to another. Over time, that familiarity turned into understanding, and eventually, into a lifelong path.

I later moved to Istanbul to study finance, but left school early to follow a more practical education — working directly in the rug trade. That decision took me to Los Angeles, where I continued working in the rug business while attending college.
Over the years, I’ve worked across nearly every side of the industry:
-
Retail and wholesale rug sales
-
Rug cleaning and care facilities
-
Repair and restoration coordination
-
Working directly with homeowners and interior designers
-
High-end furniture and design environments

My work has taken me through 48 states, meeting clients, learning regional tastes, and understanding how rugs live in real homes — not just showrooms.

Since 2018, I’ve been based in Boulder, Colorado, where my focus has become more intentional: offering thoughtful rug care, guidance, and curation rooted in experience rather than volume.
A Thoughtful Approach to Rugs

At Boulder Rug Collective, my goal is simple:to help people understand what they have, choose wisely, care properly, and feel confident about their rugs.

Whether that means:
-
Cleaning and reconditioning
-
Repair and restoration
-
Storage and safekeeping
-
Consignment or trade
-
Or simply answering questions

I believe rugs deserve clarity, honesty, and respect — and so do the people who live with them.
I still carry a deep interest in rug retail, but always with the same philosophy:
the right rug, at the right time, for the right home.

Rugs travel through generations, homes, and lives. My role is to help guide them — and the people who own them — thoughtfully along the way.
Our Commitment to Excellence
At Boulder Rug Collective, we are committed to providing exceptional rug care and curation services. Our team is dedicated to preserving the beauty and history of each rug we encounter. We strive to offer a seamless experience for our clients, ensuring clarity and confidence throughout the process.
